Track the legislature on EdNews

Education issues are always a major focus during legislative sessions and there’s no better way to track those issues than with Education News Colorado.

We’ll be covering our fourth legislative session in 2011. During the last three years, EdNews has brought you the most complete and authoritative coverage of such major issues as budget cuts, the Colorado Achievement Plan for Kids, accountability reform and educator evaluation.

You can expect the same quality and depth of coverage as education debates unfold this year.

Here’s a quick guide to how to get what you need from EdNews:

• Daily news coverage of floor debates and votes, committee work and bill introductions on our website. We usually combine a day’s news into an easy-to-read roundup story, but major developments are given full coverage in separate stories as warranted.

• To give you easy access to additional information, our stories contain links to bill texts, fiscal analyses and other documents.

• Our site also contains the exclusive Education Bill Tracker, an at-a-glance chart of all education-related bills and resolutions, including brief descriptions, status and links to full texts.

• All EdNews stories also are available on our Facebook page.

• You can have all the education news delivered to your inbox through our Capitol eNewsletters. There are two newsletters on weekdays during the session. The afternoon edition recaps the latest news; the evening e-mail includes a full summary of the day plus a complete calendar of the next day’s events relating to education. On Sunday evening, you’ll receive a full calendar of the week ahead. (The twice daily eNewsletters star Jan. 17.) Subscribe here.

• On Twitter, check our Tweets at “ednews” during major news events.

If you have questions, comments or suggestions about our legislative coverage, please write to Capitol Editor Todd Engdahl at tengdahl@ednewscolorado.org.
