    First, it’s clear that Arturo Jiminez wants DPS administrators to refocus the majority of their attention from charter schools to regular neighborhood schools that the overwhelming number of students attend. That’s the direction that most North Denver parents and students want DPS to go. Far too much attention is being focused on charter schools’ so-called success and, apparently, none on how charter schools are contributing to the racial and economic re-segregation. Jiminez seems to be calling that to the attention of DPS’ administrators, fellow board of education members and the Denver Post, all who appear to be oblivious.
