“Come into my parlor said the spider to the fly”. Washington promised Colorado a chance to compete for nearly 500-600 million dollars. Long after the R2T process was underway the feds said “oops” you might only get 65-120 million. When you look at the possible dollars each district may receive on a per pupil basis it is minuscule at best.
Those districts that sign on will eventually help cement federal control of this state for decades to come. NCLB already has a “death grip” on our schools and our state but that happened without our schools sanctioning that takeover. R2T tells Washington yep we’re for sale.
Our own department of education has become nothing more than a satellite branch of the U.S. Dept of Ed. What is coming my friends is a centralized, even more bureaucratic system of education controlled by Washington. Next up is a national curriculum where political correctness will rule the day.
You know just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean something isn’t after you. So this paranoid Supt will continue to urge others to shun Washington bribes and take charge of educating your own kids instead of turning that responsibility over to Denver or Washington.
