Transforming Rishel: 3 Schools in 1

Written by on Dec 9th, 2009. | Copyright © EdNewsColorado.org

RishelseriessignRishel Middle School in southwest Denver is one of only a handful of traditional city school buildings sharing space with new school programs this fall. It is the only one slated to close as two new schools grow around it.

Ed News Colorado is following the progress of the three schools – the traditional middle school program, the teacher-led Math and Science Leadership Academy and the charter KIPP Collegiate High School.

In part one, Rishel Principal Craig Harrer talks about the coming closure and its impact on students and staff while the principals of the new programs discuss their greatest concerns about campus-sharing, new in DPS.
